The Specialized Epic EVO Expert 29″ Mountain Bike – Sprints uphill and speeds downhill
The Epic EVO Expert from Specialized is a full-suspension carbon cross-country bike with SRAM X01 Eagle 1×12-speed groupset, GS RS 4-piston brake, X-Fusion Manic Dropper Post and carbon wheels. It stands for pure speed, whether uphill or downhill. A Flip Chip allows you to adjust the head tube angle by half a degree and raise the bottom bracket by six millimetres, which lets you better adapt the handling to your riding style. The 120 mm RockShox suspension fork with Charger 2 RL and DebonAir is designed for pedalling efficiency, and also provides constant feedback throughout the travel. The seatpost impresses with infinitely adjustable travel, while the handmade wheelset by Roval with its 29 mm-wide tubeless-ready rims increases stiffness and helps save weight.

FACT is an acronym for ” Functional Advanced Composite Technology” and summarises all the know-how that Specialized has in the use of carbon fibre. It is a holistic approach, which primarily concerns the bike frames, but is found in many components such as handlebars, stems, saddles etc. The starting point is always the awareness for the needs of riders and the capability to fulfil them. Next, the selection of fibres, resins and fabric layers takes place; in this process the quality of the carbon and the arrangement of the fibre layers play an important role. It is important to find the right set-up for the project at hand and the intended location or rather the area of application. It is often necessary to differentiate from model to model at several points. In the final step, attention is paid to processing the material in a way that allows the desired advantages in terms of low weight, rigidity and stability to be achieved.
Rider-First Engineered™
Rider-First Engineered describes the design approach used by Specialized to precisely match each frame size to the target group. Simply put, smaller frames for smaller riders are built in a different way than larger frames for larger riders. This is done on the basis of performance parameters determined in practical tests, taking into account the forces acting on different areas of the bike when riders of different sizes ride it. Based on this analysis, the optimum tube dimensions and the appropriate carbon fibre covering for the respective frame size are determined. This way you can be sure that no matter what your height is, you will receive a bike that delivers optimal and controllable performance suited to your size.
