The Epic EVO Comp from Specialized is a full-suspension carbon cross-country bike with SRAM GX Eagle 1×12-speed groupset, GS RS 4-piston brake, X-Fusion Manic Dropper Post and aluminium wheels. It stands for efficiency, an ideal stiffness-to-weight ratio and for performance and riding pleasure in equal measure. A Flip Chip allows you to adjust the head tube angle by half a degree and raise the bottom bracket by six millimetres, which lets you better adapt the handling to your riding style. The seatpost impresses with its infinitely adjustable travel, while the powerful disc brake ensures that safety is maintained at all speeds. FACT is an acronym for ” Functional Advanced Composite Technology” and summarises all the know-how that Specialized has in the use of carbon fibre. It is a holistic approach, which primarily concerns the bike frames, but is found in many components such as handlebars, stems, saddles etc. The starting point is always the awareness for the needs of riders and the capability to fulfil them. Rider-First Engineered™
Rider-First Engineered describes the design approach used by Specialized to precisely match each frame size to the target group. Simply put, smaller frames for smaller riders are built in a different way than larger frames for larger riders. This is done on the basis of performance parameters determined in practical tests, taking into account the forces acting on different areas of the bike when riders of different sizes ride it. Based on this analysis, the optimum tube dimensions and the appropriate carbon fibre covering for the respective frame size are determined.
