The Diverge Pro by Specialized – Gravel bike with modern geometry
The Specialized Diverge Pro is a carbon bike with SRAM Force eTap and Eagle AXS 1×12-speed electronic shifters, handlebars, seatpost and wheels from Roval and 42 mm tyres. It impresses in gravel races and on gravel adventures with its low weight, speed and perfect handling. Thanks to Future-Shock 2.0 technology, a spring-based damping hydraulic system in the head tube, it absorbs bumps without compromising propulsion. The geometry has not only been optimised for off-road use, but with its longer reach, flat head tube angle and greater fork offset, it also proves to be extremely modern, providing stability in all riding situations. Even wider tyres and 650B wheels are no problem. The Diverge Pro also features numerous accessory mounts and even a SWAT™ opening in the down tube, usually reserved for Specialized mountain bikes. With this bike, you shift completely wirelessly, climb faster, keep control downhill and have lots of fun off of paved roads.

FACT is an acronym for ” Functional Advanced Composite Technology” and summarises all the know-how that Specialized has in the use of carbon fibre. It is a holistic approach, which primarily concerns the bike frames, but is found in many components such as handlebars, stems, saddles etc. The starting point is always the awareness for the needs of riders and the capability to fulfil them. Next, the selection of fibres, resins and fabric layers takes place; in this process the quality of the carbon and the arrangement of the fibre layers play an important role. It is important to find the right set-up for the project at hand and the intended location or rather the area of application. It is often necessary to differentiate from model to model at several points. In the final step, attention is paid to processing the material in a way that allows the desired advantages in terms of low weight, rigidity and stability to be achieved.
SWAT™
SWAT is the acronym for ” Storage, Water, Air, Tools” and describes a whole range of solutions that Specialized offers for space-saving accessories. There are SWAT elements that are built into Specialized frames from the get-go, such as the opening below the bottle cage on certain mountain and gravel bikes. And there are SWAT components which can be retrofitted to any wheel, e.g. the Conceal Carry Tool or the EMT Cage Mount Tools for SWAT bottle cages. The aim is to always use an existing, unused space to carry accessories such as drinking bottles, inner tubes, tools or CO2 cartridges, while being within easy reach, in a safe space and without impairing the aerodynamics. This often results in backpacks or bags being out of the question and emergency solutions such as spare tubes tied to the frame are something that everyone wants to avoid.
