The Diverge Comp Gravel Bike by Specialized – Lots of off-road fun
Specialized has equipped the Diverge Comp Carbon gravel bike with SRAM Rival 1×11-speed mechanical shifting, reliable attachments, DT Swiss wheels and 42 mm tyres. It shows its mettle on adventure rides and in competitions with its low weight, speed and perfect handling. Future Shock 2.0 technology, a spring-based damping hydraulic system in the head tube, absorbs bumps without compromising on propulsion. In terms of geometry, the Diverge has not only been optimised for off-road use, but with the longer reach, the flat steering angle and the increased fork travel, it also proves to be decidedly modern and ensures stability in all riding situations. Even wider tyres and 650B wheels are no problem. You also benefit from numerous accessory mounts and a SWAT™ opening in the down tube, usually reserved for Specialized mountain bikes. With this bike you climb faster, keep control downhill and have lots of fun off of paved roads.

FACT is an acronym for ” Functional Advanced Composite Technology” and summarises all the know-how that Specialized has in the use of carbon fibre. It is a holistic approach, which primarily concerns the bike frames, but is found in many components such as handlebars, stems, saddles etc. The starting point is always the awareness for the needs of riders and the capability to fulfil them. Next, the selection of fibres, resins and fabric layers takes place; in this process the quality of the carbon and the arrangement of the fibre layers play an important role. It is important to find the right set-up for the project at hand and the intended location or rather the area of application. It is often necessary to differentiate from model to model at several points. In the final step, attention is paid to processing the material in a way that allows the desired advantages in terms of low weight, rigidity and stability to be achieved.
SWAT™
SWAT is the acronym for ” Storage, Water, Air, Tools” and describes a whole range of solutions that Specialized offers for space-saving accessories. There are SWAT elements that are built into Specialized frames from the get-go, such as the opening below the bottle cage on certain mountain and gravel bikes. And there are SWAT components which can be retrofitted to any wheel, e.g. the Conceal Carry Tool or the EMT Cage Mount Tools for SWAT bottle cages. The aim is to always use an existing, unused space to carry accessories such as drinking bottles, inner tubes, tools or CO2 cartridges, while being within easy reach, in a safe space and without impairing the aerodynamics. This often results in backpacks or bags being out of the question and emergency solutions such as spare tubes tied to the frame are something that everyone wants to avoid.
Future Shock 2.0
The Future Shock 2.0 System is an adjustable hydraulic damping system for road and gravel bikes developed by Specialized in collaboration with McLaren Applied Technologies. It is based on a cartridge with several springs, which
