Shimano XTR FH-M9111 Center Lock Disc 12 Mm Thru-Axle Rear Hub

The XTR rear hub FH-M9111 by Shimano – Micro Spline and Quick Engagement
The Shimano XTR FH-M9111 rear hub comes with a 12-speed freehub, which is based on the innovative Micro Spline design. This enables a cassette sprocket with 10 teeth to be used. The body of the hub and the axle are made of lightweight aluminium, as is the freehub body. FH-M9111 is compatible with 12 x 142 mm over locknut dimensions and, as is usual with Shimano, is equipped with a sealed, maintenance-friendly cup & cone bearing. Stainless steel balls, a ground bearing cup and a CBN-machined cone are used here. Quick Engagement technology ensures lightning-fast, efficient traction and, thanks to Shimano E-Thru, torsional stiffness leaves nothing to be desired.

E-Thru is a tool-free thru-axle system from Shimano that optimises the stiffness-to-weight ratio and ensures easy handling via its reliable internal cam mechanism. It is characterised by a high torsion resistance and thus also supports cornering at high speed. E-Thru thru-axle hubs and thru-axles are available in the corresponding over locknut dimensions for front and rear.

Cup and Cone Bearings
Angular contact ball bearings of the cup & cone type are superior to sealed cartridge bearings in terms of load carrying capacity, as they distribute lateral and vertical forces better, and thus run particularly smoothly and last a long time. They are also easier to adjust, maintain and replace.

Micro Spline
Micro Spline is an innovative tooth profile on MTB freehub bodies from Shimano. All Shimano 12-speed MTB cassettes with a 10-speed sprocket are equipped with Micro Spline freehub toothing. The significantly higher and finer toothing enables a stiffer connection between the cassette and the hub body. The resulting increased contact area ensures reliable power transmission, minimises wear and prevents deformation of the freehub and sprocket.
