The Cannondale Jekyll 1 29″ mountain bike made of carbon is a downhill-oriented enduro full-suspension bike with SRAM drivetrain and Fox suspension elements, which comes up with some technical refinements. The Gravity Cavity, which hides the shock in the down tube for a low centre of gravity, and the Guidler above the chainring, a combination of idler pulley and chain guide, are particularly eye-catching. This prevents chain drop and pedal kickback during compression, which results from the higher main pivot point. The main pivot point is not near the bottom bracket as usual, but clearly above it. This results in a backward axle travel, which in turn causes the rear triangle to glide very smoothly and fluidly over obstacles without slowing you down. Thanks to Proportional Response, the frame design is individually adapted to each frame size, from geometry to chainstay length to linkage design. However, that’s not all: the rear triangle with Ai Offset offers great tyre clearance with rather short chainstays and a stiff rear wheel thanks to even spoking. The result is a bike with outstanding efficiency, strong grip, high smoothness and agility, which makes you want to go downhill again.

Asymmetric integration (Ai) places the drivetrain 6 mm further out than original drivetrains with 142 mm rear wheel over locknut dimension and 3 mm further out than standard 148 mm configurations. This is achieved through an asymmetrical rear triangle. This results in increased tyre clearance, not only but also when using a front derailleur. This in turn allows for shorter chainstays, which brings high traction and nimble handling. Furthermore, there are advantages in the rear wheel construction: the spokes on the left and right have the same length, tension and angle, so you benefit from a wheel that is up to 60% stiffer without having to compromise. To implement the offset, the chainring is also set further the outside.
